§ 6-96. Proximity to church buildings, schools or school grounds.

(a)

No license shall be issued under this article where the entrance to a place of business or premises for the retail sale of distilled spirits by the drink for consumption on the premises only is located within 25 feet of the entrance to any church building or the property line of any school or school grounds. In this section, a church building is defined as a free-standing structure, originally built for use as a church, and a church building does not include a commercial or retail building or space that has been converted for occupancy by a church or for religious purposes.

For the purposes of this section, distances shall be measured as provided in section 6-23.
